What may explain it?
These medicines slow how quickly the stomach empties. Heartburn and indigestion may develop when food stays in the stomach longer, especially after a big or fatty meal.

What helps, step by step
- For now, avoid spicy and fatty foods.
- After eating, stay upright instead of lying down.
- Choose smaller meals and stop eating when you feel full. With these medicines, the stomach empties more slowly.
- Eat slowly. Your brain needs time to notice that you are full.
- Keep fatty, greasy and sugary foods to a moderate amount, as they often bring symptoms on.
- Tell your prescriber if it does not ease. Another GLP-1 may be suggested by your prescriber, who may also slow the dose increases.
Check anything from the drugstore in the GLP-1 interactions checker before you take it.
