Why it happens on Victoza
These medicines slow the rate at which your stomach empties. Heartburn and indigestion can come from food sitting longer. This happens most of all after you eat big or fatty meals.

What helps, step by step
- For now, avoid spicy and fatty foods.
- After a meal, remain upright instead of lying down.
- Select smaller meals and stop eating once you feel full. These medicines slow down how quickly your stomach empties.
- Eat slowly. Your brain takes time to sense that you are full.
- Limit how much greasy, sugary, and fatty food you eat, as these foods often cause symptoms.
- Tell your prescriber if it does not ease. A different GLP-1 may be recommended, or the dose increases may be slowed.
Before you take any drugstore item, check it with the GLP-1 interactions checker.
