Why it happens on Saxenda
These medicines make the stomach empty more slowly. When food sits longer, sulfur burps can show up, most of all after meals that are big or fatty.

What helps, step by step
- Cut back on sugary and highly processed foods.
- Right after taking your dose, go easy on high-fiber foods.
- Eat smaller meals and stop when you feel full. The stomach empties more slowly because of these medicines.
- Eat slowly. Your brain needs time to notice when you feel full.
- Fatty, greasy, and sugary foods often cause symptoms, so limit them.
- Tell your prescriber if it does not ease. They may slow the dose increases, or they may suggest another GLP-1.
Use the GLP-1 interactions checker to check anything from the drugstore before taking it.
