The practical rule

  1. If you cannot keep food or fluids down, call your doctor on the same day.
  2. Let the person who prescribes your GLP-1 know about all the pills you take, including this one.
  3. Ask your pharmacist if any of your pills need a steady blood level. When you start treatment or raise the dose, those pills may need to be checked. You may need to have those checked when you start the medicine or raise the dose.
  4. During the first weeks and after each dose increase, test your blood sugar more often.

Jardiance with other GLP-1s

None of the 10 GLP-1 labels names Jardiance (empagliflozin) in the drug interaction section. Every medicine in this class has the same general warning about pills you swallow, so the answer does not change across the class.

It applies equally to Ozempic, Rybelsus, Trulicity, Victoza. The question is the same for each.
