What the GLP-1 label says

The Ozempic label does not name Jardiance (empagliflozin). Those statements still apply to it.

The practical rule

  1. Call your doctor that day if you cannot keep food or fluids down.
  2. Tell the prescriber of your GLP-1 about every pill you use, and mention this one too.
  3. Check with your pharmacist about whether the pills you take need steady blood levels. Checks may be needed when treatment starts or when the dose goes up.
  4. In the first weeks, monitor your blood sugar more often.

Jardiance with other GLP-1s

None of the 10 GLP-1 labels names Jardiance (empagliflozin) in the drug interaction section. All have the same general warning for pills you swallow. The answer is the same for this whole class.

The same question applies as well to Ozempic, Rybelsus, Mounjaro, Trulicity, Victoza.
