Percentage of body weight. Because trials, doses, and lengths differ, read each against its own placebo on the page listed for it.

What is different for seniors?
| What changes | What the label says | Labels |

| Acute Kidney Injury Due to Volume Depletion | Fluid loss from vomiting or diarrhea can lead to kidney injury. Drink fluids and report heavy fluid loss. | All of them |
| Heart Rate Increase | Can raise resting heart rate. If your heartbeat races or pounds while you are at rest, tell your doctor. | Wegovy and Saxenda |
| Taken with insulin or sulfonylureas | Taking it with insulin, or with a sulfonylurea such as glipizide or glimepiride, raises the chance of low blood sugar; your doctor may reduce those doses. | All of them |

Coverage for seniors
If prescribed, these medicines may be covered by Medicare Part D for diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
A GLP-1 may be covered by Part D plans for type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea that is moderate to severe, or fatty liver disease.
Medicare Part D does not pay for a GLP-1 when it is prescribed only for weight loss.
Wegovy is listed on the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge at $50 per month for people who meet its rules.
Where Medicaid covers weight-loss GLP-1s, you will usually need prior authorization.
