Why it happens on Zepbound

These medicines slow down how quickly your stomach empties. Nausea can come from food sitting longer, most of all after a big or fatty meal.

What the Zepbound label states

The label says the following about nausea, word for word:

“of the reported events occurred in patients who experienced gastrointestinal adverse reactions leading to dehydration such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea [see Adverse Reactions (6.1)].”

What helps, step by step

  1. Sip ginger or peppermint tea with no sweetener.
  2. After eating, remain upright rather than lying down.
  3. Ask your prescriber about having nausea medicine available
  4. Have smaller meals and stop eating once you feel full. These medicines make the stomach empty more slowly.
  5. Eat slowly. It takes time for your brain to sense fullness.
  6. Because fatty, greasy, and sugary foods often cause symptoms, go easy on these foods.
  7. If it does not ease, tell your prescriber. They might slow how fast the dose goes up, or suggest another GLP-1.

Before taking any drugstore product, check it with the GLP-1 interactions checker.
