What the tirzepatide label says

The practical rule

  1. Drink enough water, and speak with your pharmacist about the best painkiller for you, especially with kidney or stomach problems.
  2. Tell the person who prescribes your GLP-1 about every pill you take, including this one.
  3. Ask your pharmacist if any of your pills need a steady blood level. At the start of treatment or after a dose increase, you may need checks of those levels.

Painkillers with other GLP-1s

Painkillers (ibuprofen, acetaminophen) are left out of the drug interaction sections in all 10 GLP-1 labels. For pills you swallow, each of these medicines carries the same general caution, so the answer stays the same for the whole class.

That question applies just as well to Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound.
