Weight loss and half-life overview
Section 12.3 of each FDA label lists the half-life in days. That figure shows how long the body takes to clear half a dose.
Share of body weight. Because trials use different doses and lengths, check each result against the placebo shown on that medicine's page.

Scam signals
- No prescription needed: a seller who skips this step is not licensed as a US pharmacy.
- Brand pricing far below the manufacturer's own rate: the lowest self-pay price is $149 a month.
- Marketing a compounded drug as the brand: without FDA approval, these drugs are not Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound
- Salt forms vary: approved drugs use an active ingredient that does not match semaglutide sodium or semaglutide acetate
- Claiming a product matches the brand: the FDA sent 30 warning letters to telehealth companies over misleading claims.
- Harm reports: Compounded semaglutide is tied to 990 adverse event reports the FDA has received.
- Compounded tirzepatide: The FDA has received more than 730 adverse event reports related to it.
- The FTC acted against one program because its monthly price did not include the drug. For details, read the NextMed review.
