How to check your plan

  1. Search the state’s list for the drug: Drugs in Texas Medicaid.
  2. If your Medicaid is run by a managed care plan, call the member number on your card. Ask whether the drug needs prior authorization.
  3. Preferred drugs are approved sooner, so ask your prescriber which GLP-1 option is preferred.
  4. The approval or denial notice states the rule that applies to you, so keep it.
