How to check your plan
- Check the state's drug list to see if your drug is on it: Louisiana Medicaid drug list.
- When your Medicaid is managed by a managed care plan, use the card's member number to ask whether the drug requires prior authorization.
- Find which GLP-1 is preferred; ask your prescriber, because preferred drugs receive faster approval.
- Keep the notice of approval or denial. It tells you which rule applies to you.
