- During the first weeks, stomach side effects occur most often when the dose is low and increasing. After every dose increase, they often come back for a few days.

The reason it stalls, and what helps
- Check which dose step you are on. Each trial above found that lower doses produced less weight loss.
- Over the last month, count the doses you missed and the doses you took late.
- Keep a record of your food and drinks for a few days. As portions shrink, liquid calories and grazing add up.
- Talk with your prescriber about checking your thyroid or blood sugar. If progress has stalled for months, ask about switching medicines.
