Possible effects the label warns about
- Blood sugar that goes too low. Using it with insulin or a sulfonylurea makes low blood sugar more likely, and those doses may need lowering.
- Kidney damage caused by fluid loss. Vomiting or diarrhea may cause fluid loss, which can lead to kidney injury. Report heavy fluid loss, and drink fluids.
- Severe reactions in the stomach and gut. Stomach and gut side effects often occur, and some can be severe. It is not recommended for people with severe gastroparesis.
